The Florida Keys
Florida Keys Mosquito Control is located in South Florida in the beautiful Florida Keys. The Keys have over 1,788 sq. miles and almost 1,700 sq. miles are owned and protected by federal, state and environmental organizations (95%). The unique environment of the Florida Keys can be appreciated by taking a trip down U. S. One, from Florida City to Key West, the southernmost point of the United Sates. As you cross the 43 bridges that connect the 38 islands to the mainland, you begin to understand the poems and songs written about the Keys. The marine and terrestrial life of the Florida Keys combined with the weather make the Keys an American Caribbean Paradise.
The Florida Keys are bordered on one side by the third largest barrier reef in the world and the only living coral reef in the United States. The reef environment brings snorkelers, divers and fisherman from all over the world to the Keys. The diversity of the natural ecosystem with hardwood hammocks, mangrove islands, wetlands and sandy beaches are preserved and protected while being admired by tourists and locals alike.
